Before the NWOBH, before thrash, before death, before anything with a -core on the end, there was heavy metal. Like their contemporaries Black Sabbath, Pentagram spent the seventies pushing the envelope of hard edged rock and blues, helping to create a genre (or, perhaps, a musical attitude) which would produce an unbelievable variety of music over the next forty years. The band has undergone many line-up changes in their time and has continually explored diverse musical territory, influencing countless acts along the way.
